Aberdovey Golf Break

1 Night, 2 Rounds

Aberdovey Golf Break

Your Aberdovey Golf Break will leave you wanting to come back for more. The course plays out over some great links land with a really interesting design.

This break features 1 nights stay plus 2 rounds of golf at Aberdovey, staying in the well appointed 4 star rated on site Dormy House. The rooms can accommodate 12 golfers in twin bedded rooms and you are within walking distance of town for restaurants etc. Board basis is Bed and Breakfast which is taken in the clubhouse and evening meals can also be arranged with the club.

From the moment you walk from the car park, cross over the Cambrian Coast railway line, to the course and clubhouse at Aberdovey you know you are in for something special. Aberdovey, famous for its association with Bernard Darwin one of golf’s first writers and his writings about a place that his, ‘soul loved best of all the courses in the world.’ And it’s easy to see why he fell in love with it.

Various architects have had a hand in the present layout of Aberdovey but it was essentially nature that was the creator of this old-fashioned,  links sandwiched between the Cambrian Mountains and the Irish Sea. It’s a great place and a peaceful environment to play golf.

The out and back figure of 8 routing, bordered by large dunes on one side and squeezed in by the railway line and Snowdonia on the other, gives an old world feel to the set up but yet the course still remains a challenge to the modern golfer.

The finishing holes in particular play out over more undulating  ground whilst the rest of the course has a flatter and more roaming marshland terrain that creates a rugged and more exposed feel to your round.
